This one's personal.
I drew the original of this design back in 2010, before I had even started dreaming of screen printing and owning an artisan business. I was awaiting my 3rd surgery for Endometriosis. And this one was a big one. The wait was long: over 10 months just to see the surgeon for an initial appointment and I was on the "priority" list because of the severity of my condition. (I'm hearing the wait times are even longer these days)
I had been reading an ancient Hebrew prophet,
Isaiah, because that's what a girl like me does while waiting for things to happen. He likened a war-torn, "ruined" city to a barren woman and spoke to her to enlarge her living space and make room for future generations, because she would be restored. He used the phrase "I will rebuild your walls with precious stones". It jumped out at me because I knew that my own insides, my own uterine walls and surrounding tissues, were in ruins. But there was hope. The hope of rebuilding. The hope of restoration. The hope of a future.
Those words of hope supported me through that time. They inspired me to take the situation I was in and turn it into a better future. I left my corporate job and a couple of years later created a business. It grew into a full-time livelihood and it's been a dream come true to become a Creative Entrepreneur. Although I haven't created "children" I have created designs that make people smile. And I've encouraged many children and youth to pursue their artsy dreams. They're my future generation.
This design speaks of Value.
The value of Creative Energy, in whatever form it takes.
The value of building, sometimes rebuilding, for the future.
The value of speaking hope into each other. A prophet's words from thousands of years ago spoke hope into me. Who knows where our words will end up?!
And valuing women's health, which needs a LOT more support and focus within our medical system.
I hope it has meaning for you!
